So far, the Jeep is winning. The snake that was apparently living in the soil beneath the bush was probably rooting for the bush. That was before the napalm.
The snake, of course, decided to get the Hell out of there. Snakes do not flee nearly so well, if you send metal in the form of post hole diggers hurtling down on them from above. So, while the bush did not burn, the snake did. Gasoline. Match. Snake go poof!
My son is still only four years old. Me? I just don't trust snakes being anywhere in the vicinity of my son. So, eradication follows in the wake of a visible sighting of the reptile creatures. It's nothing personal. They have an entire planet to roam free of ill will from me, and I'm quite willing to share the planet with them - just not the immediate vicinity where my son is, wherever on the planet that that may be.
Most days, most weeks, most months, even most years, I don't kill any snakes, at all. This, however, was not one of those years.
It was a small snake. It came from somewhere. Hopefully, the large snake has moved on, or perhaps this small snake was merely a straggler wandering in from afar.
I don't even eat Stygian cuisine.
